Air Force 1s Nike Air Force 1s have been an instant success since first appearing in 1982. Three local businessmen got so fed up with the repeated requests that they forced Nike to bring back the old Air Force 1s. They were given the nickname of the three amigos and because of their hard work getting Air Force 1s re-instated Nike owes these men a really big debt of gratitude. The 20th Anniversary of Nike Air Force 1’s was in 2002. They have been creating a higher class Air Force 1 for celebrities and the elite; it was made so that it could be worn as a dress shoe. Made of leather and sometimes-real skin.
